ABEOKUTA, OGUN STATE — The President of the Students’ Union Government (SUG) of Tai Solarin Federal University of Education (TASFUED), Ogunfowora Oluwashinaayomi, has led a delegation of the union on a strategic courtesy visit to the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, as part of efforts to strengthen security and improve student welfare.
The engagement focused on addressing key security concerns affecting students within and around the university community, while exploring avenues for closer collaboration between the Nigeria Police Force and the Students’ Union.
According to Ogunfowora, the meeting provided an opportunity to discuss practical measures aimed at enhancing the safety of students, improving communication between the university community and security agencies, and ensuring prompt responses to issues affecting students on and off campus.
He noted that the Students’ Union remains committed to building productive partnerships with relevant stakeholders to create a safer and more conducive learning environment for all students.
“As your SUG President, I remain committed to building partnerships that protect the interests of every student. Leadership is about taking action, not just making promises,” Ogunfowora said.
The visit underscores the union’s proactive approach to student representation, with security and welfare identified as key priorities of the current administration.
The Students’ Union expressed optimism that the collaboration with the Ogun State Police Command will contribute to improved security coordination and greater confidence among students as they pursue their academic activities.
The meeting forms part of the SUG leadership’s ongoing efforts to engage government institutions and relevant stakeholders in addressing issues that impact the overall well-being of students at Tai Solarin Federal University of Education.
