Four exceptional public school students from Ogun East Senatorial District have been rewarded with a total of ₦2 million by the YESIR Foundation in recognition of their outstanding performances in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
The presentation, held in July 2026 as part of the Foundation’s 3rd Academic Excellence Award for Exceptional Talents, celebrated the highest-scoring public school candidates across Ogun East, reaffirming the Foundation’s commitment to promoting quality education and rewarding academic excellence.
Leading the list of awardees was Benson Prosper Kirimini of Ijebu Muslim College, Senior, who emerged as the overall best-performing public school student in Ogun East with an impressive JAMB score of 321. He received the top prize of ₦1 million.
Kehinde-Philip Oluwatunmise of Our Lady of Apostle Secondary School, Senior Public secured second place with a score of 315 and was presented with ₦500,000.

Third place went to Adenuga Grace Ayomikun of Mayflower School, Senior Public, Ikenne, who scored 309 and received ₦300,000, while Akala Aliyah Eniola of Anglican Girls’ Grammar School, Senior Public, Ijebu-Ode, earned the fourth position with a score of 298, receiving ₦200,000.
Speaking during the presentation ceremony, representatives of the YESIR Foundation said the initiative was established to encourage diligence, reward excellence, and inspire more students in public schools to pursue academic success despite existing challenges.
According to the Foundation, investing in education remains one of the most effective ways to build a stronger future for Ijebuland and Nigeria.
“The future of Ijebuland and Nigeria at large lies in the quality of education we give our children. These students have made us proud, and we believe this token will support them as they pursue higher education,” the Foundation stated.
The Foundation is led by its Founder and Grand Patron, Asiwaju Egbe Obayori Okunrin Akile Ijebu, who has earned recognition for supporting educational advancement and youth development across Ogun East. Beyond education, he is also the sponsor of the annual Ijebu East NAPSGAT Sports Festival, reflecting his continued investment in both academic and sporting excellence.

Parents, teachers, and school administrators present at the ceremony commended the Foundation for sustaining the initiative, describing it as a meaningful investment in the future of public education and a source of motivation for students across the district.
The beneficiaries expressed appreciation to the YESIR Foundation for the recognition and pledged to remain committed to excellence as they continue their academic journeys.
Now in its third edition, the Academic Excellence Award for Exceptional Talents has become one of the notable initiatives encouraging healthy academic competition among public secondary school students in Ogun East, while reinforcing the message that hard work and excellence deserve recognition.
