Asake Shares Behind-the-Scenes Story of Creating “Wave” with Central Cee

Date:

In a recent interview with Apple Music, Nigerian star Asake opened up about the creation of his hit track “Wave,” featuring UK rapper Central Cee. Asake revealed that the song’s chorus was initially recorded during a session with producer Magicsticks in Lagos, where he expressed a desire to focus on positive vibes and avoid distractions.

The collaboration with Central Cee came about after the two artists met at Asake’s Barclays show in New York. They decided to hang out and ended up in a studio where Central Cee recorded his part that same night. Both artists instantly fell in love with the track. Although they had initially planned to work on another song in London, they felt that “Wave” was the perfect fit.
